“These patients come in covered in blood. Their blood - the blood of their buddies - dirt, carbon residue, all of that. Filthy. If they're truly traumatic, to save their lives we cut off all their clothes so we can get to the wounds as fast as possible and resuscitate them fully. Either way, when they get done, would these guys want to put on their scuzzy outers? No. And these are usually guys who lived in squalor, doing patrols, and now they got blown up.
One of the nicest things we can do is wash them off with a sponge, give them clean pajama pants and a nice t-shirt and some flip-flops. They get to feel like normal people for a little while. It's the least we can do for these heroes, you know?”.

The Gulf Restoration Network (GRN) is a network of environmental, social justice, and citizens' groups and individuals committed to restoring the Gulf of Mexico to an ecologically and biologically sustainable condition.
The GRN was formed in 1994 to raise awareness of environmental issues in Gulf States and to increase communication and coordination of member activities across the region.
